Our History

Niverville United Church is the oldest church building in Niverville and known to the community as “the little white church” (because it is painted all white).

It was built in 1907 as a Presbyterian congregation after a small group of faithful settlers realized their dream after worshiping in the local school house for 22 years.

It was even used by two Mennonite congregations as worship space until they built their own buildings.

A basement and kitchen were added in 1957 with a front entrance added in 1974.

Renovations were done in 2001 & 2002 which included adding a wheel chair ramp & air conditioning, new siding & furnaces and a renovations to the sanctuary & basement.

One of the original features still in place today is the tin plate ceiling in the sanctuary.

We remember the founders for their vision and hard work.  They help keep us rooted in the past while their example helps us look to the future.
